Can you eat tums during pregnancy?

Since becoming pregnant, I've been getting really bad heartburn, especially after meals. Someone suggested Tums for relief, but I'm unsure about taking any medication while expecting. Is it generally safe to use during pregnancy?

In general, Tums is considered safe during pregnancy because it is mostly calcium carbonate, which helps with heartburn. However, too much calcium can cause issues, so always ask your doctor for the right daily limit before starting.

Please don't take medication advice from random internet forums, especially during pregnancy. Even standard antacids like Tums can interact with your iron supplements or prenatal vitamins. Call your gynecologist and ask them directly what is safe for your body.

Instead of relying on antacids like Tums daily, try keeping your portions small and eating 2 hours before lying down. Walking lightly after meals can also significantly reduce pregnancy acid reflux without needing any over-the-counter pills.

Haan, Tums safe hoti hai acidity ke liye, par limit mein hi lena na. Zyada khane se constipation ho jata hai jo pregnancy mein pehle se hi ek headache hai. Safe side ke liye doctor se ek baar zaroor confirm kar lena.

Tums is usually fine for heartburn, but make sure not to take it at the exact same time as your iron tablets as it can block iron absorption.

Beta, baat-baat par dawayian khana achha nahi hota, khaas kar pregnancy mein. Saunf ka paani piyo ya thoda thanda duth pi lo, acidity mein bohot aaram milta hai. Agar phir bhi theek na ho, toh doctor se pooch kar hi dawa lo.

Buying imported Tums in India can be quite expensive. You can ask your doctor for cheap, local Indian calcium carbonate antacid equivalents, which work exactly the same way and will save you some money on your monthly pharmacy bills.

My wife used Tums during her pregnancy whenever she had bad heartburn, and it worked fine. Our doc said it is safe but warned us not to abuse it. Just stick to the recommended dosage on the pack.

This is a sacred time for your body, so try to keep it free from unnecessary medicines. While standard antacids are generally fine, try gentle breathing and small, positive changes in your eating habits to naturally calm your stomach.

I got such bad acidity in my second trimester that I wanted to take Tums, but I was so scared it might harm my baby. Did anyone else feel super nervous about taking even basic antacids during their pregnancy? I ended up just drinking cold milk.
