Can you eat crawfish during pregnancy?

We went to a restaurant last night and they had crawfish on the menu. I skipped it because I'm pregnant, but now I'm curious if it's actually safe to eat.

Getting food poisoning from raw seafood means expensive hospital visits and lab tests, which will easily ruin your monthly budget. It is much more practical to stick to locally sourced, thoroughly cooked fish. Save your money for the baby's upcoming expenses.

I just gave birth last month! During my pregnancy, I had cooked crawfish twice because the doctor said low-mercury shellfish is okay if boiled properly. Just make sure the meat is firm and white, and avoid the head portion completely.

My wife wanted crawfish curry when she was pregnant. I made sure we bought it fresh, cleaned it thoroughly, and cooked it on high heat for a long time. She ate it and was totally fine, but we strictly avoided eating it at random restaurants.

I know how stressful it is when everyone gives you conflicting advice on what you can and cannot eat. It makes you feel so guilty even for having cravings. If you really want crawfish, just ensure it is fully cooked, but do talk to your doctor to ease your mind.

Listen, if you are getting it from a high-end place where you know it is fully cleaned and cooked, go ahead in small quantities. But don't eat it from roadside stalls or untested places. Pregnancy is not the time to experiment with seafood hygiene.

My doctor told me crawfish is actually fine to eat during pregnancy because it is low in mercury compared to other seafood. However, she strictly warned that it must be boiled completely hot and never eaten undercooked. I made sure to prepare it at home to be safe.

Seafood can easily carry contaminants and heavy metals that aren't ideal during pregnancy. If you want to ensure proper nutrition and protein, safer options like paneer, organic dals, and sprouts are much cleaner and risk-free for both you and the baby.

Please be very careful with any shellfish during pregnancy. I had a lot of complications during my third month due to a minor infection from food, and it was terrifying. I highly recommend consulting your doctor before adding crawfish to your diet.
