Can you drink soda during pregnancy?

Being pregnant, I have been craving aerated drinks a lot lately. My mother says it's not good for the baby because of all the sugar and fizz. I want to know if drinking soda sometimes is really harmful during pregnancy, or if it's okay in moderation.

My wife drank a bit of soda when she was expecting because of terrible gas, but the doctor scolded us about the high sugar. Honestly, pregnancy is exhausting enough without dealing with sugar crashes. Better to stick to simple nimbu paani with a bit of black salt.

Haan, thoda bohot can drink if you are feeling bloated or nauseous, but don't make it a daily habit na. Soda has too much gas and caffeine, which isn't great for the baby. Maybe try fresh sweet lime juice instead, it helps with acidity too.

Haan na, sometimes the craving for a cold, bubbly drink is just too much during pregnancy. I used to drink soda occasionally, but my doctor told me the high phosphorus can affect calcium levels ho na. So just have it once in a while in very small quantities.

I had half a bottle of cola yesterday because my stomach was feeling so heavy, and now I'm stressing out about the caffeine and artificial sugar. Did anyone else drink soda occasionally during their pregnancy? Please let me know, I really hope it's fine.

An occasional glass of soda is absolutely fine and won't harm your baby. Just try not to make it a daily routine because of the high sugar and preservatives. Take care and eat fresh foods as much as possible.
