Can you drink alcohol with one kidney removed?

My right kidney was removed a few years ago due to an issue. I generally maintain a healthy lifestyle, but during festivals or special occasions, I sometimes feel like having a small glass of wine. I'm wondering if it's safe to consume alcohol at all, even sparingly, with only one kidney left.

Honestly, I barely get four hours of sleep these days because of my baby, so my brain is fried, but even I know you shouldn't put extra pressure on your remaining kidney. Alcohol causes massive dehydration which is a nightmare for a single kidney. Better to skip the booze and try to get some sleep instead!

Having a kidney removed is a very big change for the body. I always recommend natural coconut water and warm water with lemon to keep the remaining kidney clean and functioning well. Please avoid alcohol completely, and if you ever feel any severe back pain or swelling, see a doctor immediately.

Our ancestors always said that moderation is key, but when an organ is removed, we must be twice as careful. Alcohol is very drying for the body and hard on the remaining kidney. Drinking barley water or simple warm water is much better to keep the kidney running smoothly.

Hey bro, I had one kidney removed after an accident a few years back. Honestly, I still hang out with my friends, but I strictly limit my alcohol intake to maybe one beer once in a blue moon. You really don't want to mess up the only kidney you have left, so keep it extremely moderate.

Since you have one kidney doing the work of two, tracking your daily water intake is absolutely crucial. Alcohol severely disrupts hydration levels which you can easily see on any fitness tracker. It's much safer to log your water properly and keep alcohol to a bare minimum, if at all.

Hey! My cousin had a kidney removed when she was young, and she lives a completely normal life now. She just makes sure to stay super hydrated and avoids binge drinking completely. When we go out, she usually sticks to mocktails, which is a great way to stay safe and still have fun!

Having worked in healthcare, I always tell people that a single kidney is perfectly capable of keeping you healthy, but you must protect it. Alcohol can cause fluctuations in blood pressure which directly affects kidney health over time. Keep your drinks very limited and always discuss it with your nephrologist.
