Can you drink alcohol with one kidney?

Having been born with only one functional kidney, I've always been careful about my health. Recently, my friends have been pushing me to join them for occasional drinks. I'm curious if having one kidney means I should completely avoid alcohol, or if a very small amount is permissible.

When my sister was left with one kidney after surgery, we did a lot of research. Her nephrologist clearly explained that having one kidney doesn't stop you from living a normal life, but heavy alcohol can cause severe dehydration and strain the single kidney. She was advised to keep drinking strictly occasional and moderate.

Our body is a beautiful temple, and when we have only one kidney, we must treat it with even more love and gratitude. Staying positive and taking care of what we consume is very important. Avoiding alcohol completely is a wonderful way to keep your single kidney healthy and blessed.

If you have only one kidney, you must get regular kidney function tests like creatinine and BUN done, which already cost money. Why risk complications from alcohol that could lead to expensive hospital treatments? It is much more practical and budget-friendly to avoid alcohol and keep your kidney safe.

When you have one kidney, focusing on a clean, low-sodium vegetarian diet is very helpful to prevent any extra load on it. Alcohol is highly dehydrating and toxic to the system, so I strongly suggest avoiding it completely and focusing on fresh juices and plenty of water instead.

My uncle has been living with one kidney for thirty years now. My grandmother always told him to avoid alcohol completely, but his doctor said that a very occasional glass of wine during family celebrations is fine, provided he drinks lots of water. Trust your doctor's advice on this, they know best.
