Can you do ab workouts during pregnancy?

My doctor told me to stay active during pregnancy, but I'm not sure about certain workouts. Is it alright to do ab workouts during pregnancy, like crunches or planks, or could that be harmful to the baby?

My gynecologist explicitly told me that traditional ab workouts like crunches, planks, and sit-ups should be avoided, especially after the first trimester. Lying flat on your back can compress the vena cava, reducing blood flow. She suggested modified core exercises like seated pelvic tilts instead.

Honestly, intense core workouts are best avoided during this time. I used to just do soft breathing exercises and light butterfly stretches at home to keep my pelvic muscles flexible. It is much safer to keep things gentle and not pressure the belly.

Haan na, heavy exercises completely avoid karna chahiye. Baby ke safety ke liye simple walk aur doctor ki advice hi best hai, ho na. No need to strain your stomach unnecessarily.

Direct abdominal exercises like sit-ups are a no-go because they increase intra-abdominal pressure. You can, however, focus on deep core and transverse abdominis activation under expert guidance. Always consult your OB-GYN before trying any new exercise program.

I just delivered my baby three months ago! During my pregnancy, my physical therapist had me stop all standard ab workouts to prevent muscle separation. Believe me, you don't want to risk that. Stick to safe prenatal-specific routines only.

No need to go to fancy gyms or try complex workouts during pregnancy. A simple 30-minute daily walk in a nearby park is the best and safest exercise for both mother and child. Keep it simple and don't take unnecessary risks with ab workouts.
