Can you develop allergies during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester, and lately I've noticed I'm reacting badly to things I never had issues with before, like certain foods or dust. I was wondering if it's possible to suddenly develop new allergies during pregnancy. Is this a common thing for expecting mothers?

Yes, it is actually quite common to develop new allergies or have existing ones change during pregnancy because your immune system goes through so many shifts. Don't worry too much about it. Just keep your doctor in the loop before taking any over-the-counter allergy medicines, okay?

My mother told me that pregnancy can change a woman's body in unexpected ways, including new sensitivities to food or dust. I developed a mild skin allergy during my second trimester. I avoided self-medicating and consulted my gynecologist, who gave me a very safe lotion that helped.

Oh absolutely, pregnancy hormones love playing random games with your body! You might suddenly start sneezing at your favorite flowers or get itchy from a soap you've used for years. It's usually just a temporary phase, but do check with your doctor before popping any anti-allergy pills.

Haan beta, pregnancy mein shareer bahut badal jata hai, so new allergies can happen. I also used to get itchy skin and sneezes when I was expecting. Just avoid dusty places and eat simple, fresh food, and make sure to tell your doctor about it in your next visit.

I have suddenly started getting these random red rashes on my arms and some sneezing fits, which I never had before. I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and feeling so anxious about this. Has anyone else experienced new allergies starting out of nowhere during their pregnancy?

During pregnancy, the body's internal balance is very delicate, and sometimes new sensitivities arise. For mild nasal allergies, inhaling clean steam can be very soothing and is completely safe for the baby. However, for any severe reactions, always consult your doctor immediately.
