Can yogurt cause weight gain?

I thought yogurt was a healthy snack and have been eating a lot of it, but I seem to be gaining weight instead. Can eating too much yogurt actually cause weight gain?

At my age, even drinking water feels like it causes weight gain! But yogurt won't make you fat unless you are eating those store-bought ones loaded with sugar and strawberry syrup. Stick to normal plain dahi.

My grandmother always told us that homemade curd keeps the stomach cool and light. Our doctor also says plain yogurt is excellent for gut health and won't cause weight gain if eaten in moderation.

Haan, flavored pack wale yogurt me to bohot sugar hoti hai, so usse weight gain ho sakta hai. But normal ghar ka plain dahi to healthy hota hai aur digestion bhi improve karta hai, haina?

No, plain yogurt or Greek yogurt is actually great for weight loss because of the high protein content. Just track your portion sizes and avoid yogurts with added sugars and artificial flavors.

I was looking this up because I love Greek yogurt. Apparently, it only causes weight gain if you eat it in excess or choose the sweet, flavored ones which have as much sugar as a cold drink. Plain yogurt is totally safe!

Homemade fresh curd or buttermilk is very good for health and does not increase weight. However, do not eat heavy, sweet curd late at night as it can cause phlegm and slow down digestion.

Bro, plain dahi is literally the safest food ever. I eat it with every meal when I'm trying to stay fit. Just avoid those fancy blueberry yogurts from the supermarket, they are basically dessert.
