Can wisdom teeth cause jaw pain?

My jaw has been really sore lately, especially when I try to open my mouth wide. My wisdom teeth are impacted and causing some pressure. Could they be the reason for this constant jaw pain?

Yes, wisdom teeth pressure can cause intense jaw pain. Since I manage diabetes, any dental infection can affect my blood sugar, so I had to be very careful and get it treated by a dentist immediately.

When my bottom wisdom teeth were growing, my entire lower jaw felt stiff and painful for weeks. I couldn't even chew properly. Once the dentist extracted them, the jaw tension completely vanished.

It is very common to have jaw pain when those last teeth try to squeeze in. Try not to chew on very hard food for a few days to avoid stressing your jaw. But do get a dentist to look at it soon so you get relief.

I had such bad jaw pain from my wisdom teeth that I could barely open my mouth to eat. Doing warm water gargles with salt helped soothe the ache temporarily, but getting them removed was the only permanent fix.

Back in my day, we all went through this jaw pain when our wisdom teeth emerged. It can be quite uncomfortable, but once the tooth is either out or fully grown, the jaw settles down. Just have a dentist evaluate it.
