Can weight loss make your period late?

I've been on a strict diet and exercise regime for a few weeks and have lost around 4 kgs. This month, my period is unusually late, which is making me quite worried. Can weight loss make your period late or irregular?

Please be careful with this. I lost weight too fast last year, ended up missing my periods for three months, and developed severe hormonal issues. Do consult a gynecologist before this gets complicated.

Yes, it actually can! Rapid weight loss can throw your hormones off balance for a little bit. Just focus on eating healthy fats and don't push yourself too hard 🌸

My sister went through this recently when she started a crash diet. Her doctor said sudden calorie cuts stress the body and mess up the cycle. She had to eat normal to get it back.

I know how terrifying it is when your period is late and you start overthinking. It's actually very common when your body goes through sudden changes like weight loss. Try to breathe and don't panic.

I am also facing this right now after losing 4 kgs in a month. Is it normal for it to be delayed by more than ten days, or should I be worried and see a doctor soon?

Hey, don't stress too much! If you've been working out hard or cutting calories, your body just goes into a temporary shock mode. Eat a bit of healthy food and give it a week or two, it will regularize.

Honestly, my body gets so confused with minor changes that even sleeping late makes my period act up. Fast weight loss definitely messes up the schedule. Eat some carbs and go sleep, your body is probably just tired.
