Can weight loss change your period?

Since I started my diet and exercise routine and lost almost 10 kgs, my periods have been really different. The timing, the flow, everything feels off. I'm wondering if weight loss can dramatically change your period cycle.

Actually yes, it absolutely can change your cycle, yaar. Last year when I went on a super strict keto diet and lost weight fast, my period missed for two whole months. It is basically our body's way of saying it is too stressed.

I went through this and it was so scary when my periods suddenly stopped after I lost weight. I felt like I had damaged my body permanently. Please know you are not alone, and your body just needs gentle nourishment and a steady routine to recover.

Yes, if you cut out healthy fats from your food in a bid to lose weight, your hormone production drops. Ensure your diet includes sesame seeds, almonds, and a little ghee. Balanced nutrition is key to keeping your periods regular.

Hey, don't worry too much. A sudden drop in weight can easily throw your hormones out of balance and make your cycle irregular or lighter. Just make sure you are not starving yourself and are getting proper nutrition. If it doesn't settle down, do consult a doctor.

I am just starting my fitness journey and I am a bit scared to hear this. Does even gradual, healthy weight loss of 1-2 kgs a month cause these period changes, or is it only during extreme dieting?
