Can weight gain cause shortness of breath?

Lately, I find myself huffing and puffing after just a short walk, which never used to happen. I've gained a good 15 kgs in the last couple of years. Is it possible that this weight gain is causing my shortness of breath?

Yes, when we gain heavy weight, our body has to work much harder to move, which makes us pant. Eat light food, walk slowly in the mornings, and consult a doctor to be safe.

Haan na, even I feel breathless very quickly after gaining thoda weight. The pressure on the lungs is real. Better to get your heart and lungs checked by a doctor once, just to be sure.

With PCOS, sudden weight gain and breathing issues can happen due to hormonal imbalances and fatigue. Please don't make assumptions yourself; get a proper checkup from a physician.

I ignored my shortness of breath for months, thinking it was just because I got fat. It turned out to be an early sign of a heart issue. Please don't ignore breathing issues; go to a hospital and get a proper checkup immediately.

I tried ginger tea, steam inhalation, and many things when my breathing got heavy after weight gain, but nothing worked like losing the weight. Be practical, eat healthy home food, and seek a doctor's advice.

Carrying extra weight increases the oxygen demand of your body. Once your doctor rules out any serious conditions, starting a slow, daily walking routine will help build your lung capacity again.
