Can vitamin b12 deficiency cause hair loss?

I've been experiencing significant hair loss lately, and my blood tests showed a vitamin B12 deficiency. Could my vitamin B12 deficiency be the reason for my hair loss, or is it something else?

Honestly, yes, it can affect your hair growth, but please don't start taking random supplements on your own. It is always better to get a proper blood test done first so you know the exact levels. My doctor always says self-medicating can do more harm than good, so get it checked safely.

I can only share what happened with me, as I am not a professional. Last year my hair was thinning like crazy and I had no energy, and when the doc ran some tests, my B12 was extremely low. Once I finished the prescribed course, my hair fall actually controlled quite a bit.

It definitely impacts hair health, especially for vegetarians like us who don't get enough B12 from normal food. Just go to any local lab and get a basic vitamin profile done, it doesn't cost much. Once you have the report, show it to a local GP who can give you a cheap weekly tablet to fix it easily.

Yes, B12 is crucial for red blood cells which carry oxygen to your hair follicles, so a deficiency directy triggers hair fall. Skip the expensive hair serums and oils for a second. Book a home collection blood test on an app today and get your levels checked first.

Omg same, my hair was falling out in chunks during exams and I thought it was just stress. Turned out my B12 was super low because of all the hostel food. Definitely get it checked, it made a huge difference for me after taking the supplements my doc gave.
