Can uti cause false positive pregnancy test?

I'm experiencing classic UTI symptoms and took a home pregnancy test, which came back faintly positive. I'm confused because I don't think I'm pregnant. Is it possible for a UTI to cause a false positive result on a pregnancy test?

No need to waste money buying multiple expensive home pregnancy kits; a UTI doesn't cause a false positive because they detect entirely different things. Just spend that money on a basic urine routine test and a blood hCG test at a local lab to get accurate results.

To save yourself time and unnecessary confusion, know that a UTI will not alter a pregnancy test as the test checks for the hormone hCG. Book a quick lab test online for both urine culture and serum hCG so you get clear answers in one go.

I once ignored weird test results and symptoms thinking it was nothing, and it ended up causing a lot of trouble. A UTI shouldn't cause a false positive since it's a bacterial issue, but please get a proper blood test and clinic checkup to be absolutely sure.

Beta, home tests look for the child's hormone, which an infection cannot create. For the burning sensation of the infection, you can drink warm barley water, but do go to a clinic to get treated properly.
