Can urinating after sex prevent pregnancy?

My cousin mentioned that peeing right after sex is a way to avoid pregnancy. We are newly married and looking for reliable information. Is this true, or just a myth? I want to understand if this method can actually prevent pregnancy effectively.

Hello beta. No, it does not prevent pregnancy because the urine comes out of the urethra, while sperm enters through the vagina. However, peeing after intercourse is a very good habit to prevent painful urinary tract infections.

Absolutely not. The anatomical tracts for urination and reproduction are completely separate in women. Urinating after sex only helps in flushing out bacteria to prevent a UTI, not as a contraceptive method.

No, it won't prevent pregnancy since the urinary and reproductive tracts are distinct. It's just a great hygiene practice to keep infections away after your workout or intimate sessions. Stick to standard protection methods.

Agree with others, it does not prevent pregnancy. Always use condoms or contraceptive pills if you want to avoid pregnancy.

Hey, don't worry, it's a very common confusion. But biologically, peeing after sex cannot stop pregnancy because they are two different pathways. Keep doing it to avoid UTIs, but definitely use proper protection next time.

Nope, that is just an old myth! 😅 Peeing after sex is awesome for keeping UTIs away, but it won't help with birth control at all because of the different anatomy. Stay safe and use a condom!

I know how anxiety-inducing these situations can be when you are worried about an unplanned pregnancy. It is true that peeing doesn't prevent it, but don't beat yourself up if you didn't know. Talk to a doctor about emergency contraception if it was recent.

My partner and I just discussed this with our gynecologist last week during a checkup. The doctor clearly said that peeing has zero effect on preventing pregnancy. It is only useful to flush out urinary tract bacteria.

I actually panicked so much about this in my early marriage days and thought I was safe just by peeing afterwards. Luckily my doctor cleared my doubts; it only prevents UTIs, not pregnancy. Please use proper birth control to stay stress-free.

When we visited our family gynecologist at Max hospital, she strongly emphasized that this is a dangerous myth. Peeing after sex is solely for UTI prevention. Please ask your doctor for reliable family planning methods.

I used to believe this myth during my college days, but it is completely wrong. Sperm goes into the vaginal canal instantly, and peeing won't wash it out. Always use a condom or talk to a doctor about regular contraceptive options.
