Can urinary test detect pregnancy?

We've been trying to conceive for a few months now, and I'm eagerly waiting for any signs. I'm wondering if a general urinary test can confirm pregnancy, or if it has to be one of those special tests for the HCG hormone specifically.

Yes, those basic 50 rupee pregnancy test cards from any local pharmacy use urine to detect pregnancy. It's the cheapest and most practical way to check at home before spending money on doctor consultations or expensive blood tests.

Haan, modern urine kits are highly accurate nowadays. Just make sure to read the instructions on the packet properly and use the first urine of the morning so the results are correct. No need to panic or overcomplicate things.

Urinary tests definitely work by checking the hCG hormone, but if you have PCOS like me, irregular periods can make the timing tricky. Don't worry if it's negative first, try testing again after a week or visit your gynecologist just to be sure.

In my experience, home urine tests have always been very reliable. I just used a standard kit from the local chemist first thing in the morning when my period was late by 3 days, and it showed a clear positive result.

Absolutely! That little plastic stick and a few drops of pee are all it takes to find out if your life is about to change forever. Just follow the manual, wait for those magical lines, and keep some sweets ready!
