Can upper back pain cause chest pain?

I've been having a nagging pain in my upper back, right between my shoulder blades, for a few days now. Today, I also felt some discomfort in my chest. Can upper back pain sometimes radiate or cause chest pain?

Actually, I had this exact issue last month. My bad posture at my desk caused a severe spasm in my upper back muscles, which radiated to my chest and made me panic. It turned out to be costochondritis, which was cured with physiotherapy and stretching, but I got an ECG done first to rule out cardiac issues.

Please do not ignore chest pain, even if you think it is just from your upper back. I once delayed going to the hospital thinking it was a muscle catch, and it turned out to be a serious heart issue. Please go to an emergency room or see a doctor immediately to be safe.

Oh, I totally relate to this because it happens to me when I sit for too long in front of my laptop. The back muscles get so tight that it feels like chest pressure. Applying a warm gel helps, but please make sure a doctor checks your heart health first to rule out any danger.

I completely understand how terrifying it is when you feel chest pain, your mind immediately goes to the worst thoughts and panic sets in. It is very scary, but often it is just muscular tension from the back. Please get checked by a doctor so you can get some peace of mind.

Actually yaar, spine nerves run around the rib cage, so upper back stiffness can feel like chest pain. But honestly, chest pain is not something to play with. Go to a doc, get an ECG done, and once that is clear, you can chill and visit a physiotherapist.

Hey there! Yes, a muscle pull in your upper back can absolutely radiate to your chest area and feel scary 🌸 But please don't take any chances with chest pain! Get it checked by a doctor first just to be 100% sure everything is fine.
