Can u get a fever from food poisoning?

I had a really bad bout of food poisoning two days ago after eating out, and now I'm feeling feverish along with the other symptoms. Is it common to get a fever when you have food poisoning? I'm trying to figure out if this is normal.

Yes, you absolutely can get a fever from food poisoning. My physician explained that when bacteria like Salmonella or E. coli enter your body, your immune system raises its temperature to fight off the pathogens. Along with fever, if you have severe vomiting or bloody stools, it's a clear sign you need medical attention rather than just waiting it out at home.

Fever with food poisoning is quite common, but you shouldn't take it lightly because it can lead to severe dehydration very quickly. It is always safest to visit your family doctor or a clinic to get it checked. They can prescribe the right electrolytes or antibiotics if it's a bacterial infection.

Yes, you definitely can. I had some street food last month and ended up with a 101-degree fever and terrible stomach cramps. Don't just sit and wait for it to disappear. Start sipping ORS immediately and see a doctor if the fever doesn't go down in 24 hours.

Yes, toxic bacteria in spoiled food can trigger a fever as your body tries to flush them out. During this time, completely avoid solid foods and dairy. Stick to light vegetable broths, coconut water, and white rice with curd once your stomach settles, but do check with a doctor if the fever is high.

Oh, absolutely! My stomach decided to host a full-blown rebellion after some wedding food last year, complete with a high fever. It's just your body's dramatic way of saying 'why did you eat that?'. Keep sipping electoral water and be prepared to spend some quality time with your bathroom.
