Can tubal ligation cause weight gain?

I had my tubal ligation done about a year ago, and since then I feel like I've steadily been gaining weight. My diet hasn't changed much, so I'm wondering if the procedure could be related to this weight gain.

Actually, tubal ligation doesn't affect your hormones, so it doesn't directly cause weight gain. Many times it's just our changing metabolism as we get older. Keep smiling and stay active! 😊

The surgery itself does not cause weight gain because it doesn't change your hormone levels. Sometimes rest after surgery or stress can cause a slight change. Please take care of yourself.

I felt so frustrated when I gained weight after my procedure and kept blaming the surgery, which made me feel really down. But then my doctor explained that it was just my thyroid and age-related metabolism slow down. You are not alone in feeling this way.

Medically, there is no hormonal link between a tubal ligation and weight gain. Between managing a busy career and family, we often get less time to exercise as we age. Track your daily steps and food intake, that usually helps manage it practically.

Honestly, after my surgery and with two kids keeping me up all night, I gained weight because I was eating left-over nuggets at 2 AM! The surgery doesn't mess with your hormones, but life and lack of sleep definitely do.
