Can trazodone cause liver damage?

My doctor recently prescribed Trazodone for my sleep issues. While reading about it, I saw some mention of liver side effects. Should I be worried about potential liver damage from this medicine if I take it long-term?

Any strong chemical medicine can put pressure on our liver over time. Along with your prescribed treatment, keeping a simple diet and practicing daily pranayama can help detoxify the body. Do consult your physician for regular checkups.

Oh god, I also got so scared of liver issues when I was prescribed this. I kept checking my eyes for jaundice every single day! Honestly, just talking to your doctor and getting a simple blood test done will help ease your anxiety. You've got this.

Actually yaar, liver damage from trazodone is extremely rare but it can happen in some cases if you already have issues. My doctor told me to avoid alcohol completely while on it. Just get your liver function tests done if you feel doubtful.

According to clinical studies, trazodone can occasionally cause elevated liver enzymes, but severe liver injury is very uncommon. My doctor advised doing a routine Liver Function Test (LFT) after starting the medication to ensure everything is normal. Never stop or change the dose without consulting them.

While taking such medications, keeping your lifestyle active is very important to support your metabolism. If your doctor allows, a good 30-minute walk daily can help keep your body functioning well. Don't skip your routine medical tests to monitor liver health.
