Can tramadol cause liver damage?

My doctor prescribed Tramadol for my chronic back pain, and it helps a lot. However, I'm worried about the long-term effects on my body, especially my liver. Can taking Tramadol for an extended period cause liver damage?

In therapeutic doses, tramadol rarely causes liver damage, but chronic overuse or taking it with paracetamol can put a strain on your liver. It is always safest to consult your doctor and get regular liver function tests if you are on long-term therapy.

Honestly, I am too tired to even think straight, but my doctor told me that abusing tramadol is a fast track to liver issues. Just take it exactly as prescribed and don't try to be your own pharmacist.

I was on tramadol for post-surgery pain recently. My doctor monitored my liver enzymes and told me that as long as I don't exceed the daily limit or mix it with alcohol, the liver handles it fine.

Beta, heavy English medicines like these should never be taken without a doctor's slip as they can affect the liver. If you must take it, ensure you eat simple home-cooked food and avoid any greasy or outside meals.

Strong medications like tramadol do require the liver to work harder to filter them. Along with your prescribed treatment, try to practice deep breathing and drink plenty of water to help your body eliminate toxins naturally.
