Can too much vitamin b12 cause hair loss?

My doctor prescribed Vitamin B12 supplements for my energy levels. I'm religiously taking them, but my hair loss seems to be getting worse instead of better. Is it possible that too much Vitamin B12 can cause hair to fall out?

Actually B12 is water-soluble so excess usually washes out, but high doses sometimes trigger breakouts or gut issues that indirectly stress your system and cause hair fall. I had a similar issue last year when my doctor put me on heavy weekly injections. Just get your levels checked and reduce the dose if it's too high.

Oh god, I am going through the exact same thing right now! I have been taking B12 supplements for two months and my hair brush is always full of hair. Has anyone else actually noticed hair fall stopping after they stopped taking these tablets?

Don't stress too much about it right now. While B12 overload is rare, it is always a good idea to speak to your doctor about adjusting your supplement dose. Take care of your health.

Namaskar. Excess chemical supplements create heat or 'ushna' in the stomach, which weakens the hair roots. Instead of heavy doses, practice Sheetali pranayama and eat soaked almonds daily to balance your body naturally.

Usually, B12 deficiency causes hair loss rather than its excess, but extreme toxicity can disturb your body's overall mineral balance. Please do not self-prescribe high-dose vitamins. A simple doctor's visit and a blood panel will clear up all your doubts.

My grandmother used to say that any medicine taken in excess acts like poison. When my sister had hair fall, we thought it was B12 deficiency, but her levels were already high. We immediately consulted a general physician who corrected her daily multivitamin dosage.

Beta, today's generation runs behind pills for everything. High chemical intake harms the system and causes such side effects like hair fall. Try drinking lukewarm water with a spoon of methi powder in the morning, and reduce these heavy vitamins.

Haan na, too much of anything can react badly in our body. B12 levels limit se zyada hone par hair growth cycle kharab ho sakti hai. Ek baar normal blood test karwa ke dekh lo na, problem samajh aa jayegi.
