Can thrush prevent pregnancy?

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, and I recently had a yeast infection. I heard some people say that thrush can affect fertility, so can thrush actually prevent pregnancy?

I don't think a simple yeast infection stops you from conceiving, though it definitely ruins the mood for a nice dinner date! If you are trying to conceive, it's probably best to clear up the infection first so you can actually enjoy your meals and life.

Thrush is just a common yeast infection and does not cause permanent fertility issues. However, the pH balance changes can sometimes make it harder for sperm to travel. It is always wise to treat the infection before actively trying to get pregnant.

I know how stressful it is when you are trying to conceive and every small health issue makes you panic. Thrush itself doesn't cause infertility, but the discomfort can make intimacy difficult. Take a deep breath, it is very treatable.

Oh god, I had the same exact worry last year when I had a stubborn yeast infection! I kept googling if it would ruin my chances of conceiving. Thankfully, my gynecologist told me it doesn't affect fertility at all, so try not to stress too much like I did.

My gynecologist explained that while thrush doesn't prevent pregnancy, the yeast infection alters the vaginal environment, which can sometimes affect sperm motility. She advised completing a full course of antifungal treatment before trying to conceive to ensure a healthy environment.

Hey, don't worry! Thrush doesn't block pregnancy or cause any damage to your reproductive system. It's just super uncomfortable. Get some standard antifungal cream prescribed by your gynecologist and you'll be fine in a few days.
