Can the depo shot cause hair loss?

I've been on the Depo shot for a few months now, and recently I've noticed a significant increase in hair fall. I'm really worried about it. Could the Depo-Provera shot be causing my hair loss?

Actually, yes. I had terrible hair thinning after my second Depo shot and it was so stressful. I stopped taking the shots and switched to non-hormonal options under my doctor's guidance, and thankfully my hair is slowly growing back now.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. My sister also got the Depo shot and her hair starting falling out like crazy na! Hormones can really mess with your hair roots. Better to talk to your doctor and check if you can change the medicine.

Beta, these strong hormonal injections often cause heat in the body, leading to hair fall. You can try applying cool coconut oil with curry leaves on your scalp. But do not ignore this, go and consult your doctor to see if the injection is suiting you.

Arey behan, mere saath bhi aisa hi hua tha jab maine woh sui lagwayi thi. Mera bahut sara baal jhadne laga tha. Aap thoda accha khana khao, doodh aur hara sabji jyada lo, aur ek baar bade doctor babu ko zaroor dikha lo.

Oh God, I completely panicked when I saw clumps of hair in the shower after my first shot! But my doctor reassured me that temporary hair shedding can happen as the body adjusts to the new hormone levels. It actually stopped after a couple of months, so hang in there.

You can try gentle amla and bhringraj oils to nourish your scalp naturally. However, if the hair loss is very severe or you also have skin rashes or mood drops, please don't rely only on home tips. Go see your doctor immediately to get it checked.

Any kind of hormonal contraceptive can have side effects like hair loss or weight changes. Please get a proper thyroid and iron panel test done to make sure there is no other underlying issue. Always consult your gynecologist before taking the next shot.
