Can teeth pain cause eye pain?

I have this constant dull ache in one of my upper teeth, and sometimes it feels like the pain extends behind my eye. Can tooth pain cause eye pain too?

Haan bhaiya, bilkul ho jata hai. Hamare chehre ki nasein aapas mein judi hoti hain, isliye upar ke daant ka dard seedhe aankh tak pahunchta hai. Aap thoda aaram kijiye aur kisi acche doctor ko zaroor dikha lijiye.

Haan yaar, bilkul ho sakta hai. Agar upar wale teeth mein infection ho na, toh uska pain seedhe eyes aur forehead tak radiate karta hai. Mere sath bhi aisa hua tha, isliye late mat karo aur dentist ko dikha lo.

Yes, the sinus pathways and facial nerves are very close, so upper tooth pain often reflects in the eyes. Gentle breathing and keeping your face relaxed can help soothe the nervous system, but please do visit a dental expert to treat the root cause.

Yes, absolutely. An infection in your upper molars can easily press on the nerves near your eye socket. A quick tip: check if the pain increases when you bend down, which is common with dental/sinus pressure. Get a panoramic dental X-ray done to pinpoint the exact tooth causing it.

Yes, facial referred pain is a documented medical phenomenon, primarily due to the trigeminal nerve branches. While it's common for dental issues to mimic ophthalmic pain, a professional dental checkup is the best way to rule out any serious infection.

I completely understand how exhausting and frustrating this is. Having your eye and tooth throb at the same time is so draining and makes it impossible to focus on anything. Please know you aren't alone, and it will get better once you see a doctor.

Yes, it can. Try using a warm compress on your cheek to ease the pressure until you see a dentist.

Bro, it definitely does. I had this wisdom tooth mess up my whole upper jaw, and my left eye was throbbing like crazy for two days. Thought my vision was going bad, but it was just the tooth. Got it pulled and the eye pain vanished.

Please get it checked immediately. I ignored a top toothache thinking it was just a mild eye strain from my laptop screen. It turned out to be a severe abscess that almost spread further. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Yes, it can happen. For temporary relief, you can try warm water gargles with a little salt to reduce any swelling, but don't spend too much money on eye drops or new glasses. Go straight to a dentist first as that is the actual solution.
