Can taking melatonin cause weight gain?

Having trouble sleeping, I was thinking of trying melatonin. But my friend warned me about weight gain as a side effect with some supplements. Can melatonin actually make you gain weight?

Haan na, even I was thinking about this when my doc suggested melatonin for my sleep schedule. But actually, it doesn't cause weight gain at all. Good sleep might even help you manage your weight better, so don't worry about it too much.

As someone struggling with PCOS, I am always very careful about what supplements I take because our hormones are already so sensitive. From what I have managed to track, melatonin hasn't caused any weight gain for me, but everyone's body reacts differently. It's always safer to discuss it with your endocrinologist just to be absolutely sure.

Bro, if melatonin caused weight gain, I would be a giant balloon by now with the amount of late-night screen time and poor sleep I have! Don't worry, it's just a sleep hormone, not a heavy paratha. Sleep peacefully, your waistline is safe from this one.

I started taking melatonin tablets last month because of severe insomnia, and I feel like my face looks a bit more bloated lately. Has anyone else felt the same or noticed water retention? I really hope it's just my imagination and not the pills.

Please don't ignore sudden changes in your body. I once ignored my creeping fatigue and weight gain, thinking it was just stress, and it turned out to be a thyroid issue that got quite bad. If you are gaining weight while taking melatonin, go see a doctor to rule out any underlying health problems.

Listen, don't stress too much about this! Melatonin is just helping your biological clock get back on track so you can sleep like a baby. It doesn't have calories or anything that will make you gain weight, so just take your dose and rest well tonight, okay?

I used melatonin during my semester exams because my sleep cycle was totally ruined. Honestly, did not gain any weight at all, if anything I lost some because I wasn't doing late-night snacking anymore. It's totally fine to use if u need it for a short phase.

Before you spend a lot of money buying expensive melatonin gummies or paying for lifestyle consultants, get a basic blood panel done. Sometimes simple vitamin deficiencies disrupt your sleep, and treating that is much cheaper and safer. Plan your health budget wisely instead of self-medicating.
