Can taking estrogen cause weight gain?

Estrogen therapy has been suggested by my doctor for my symptoms. I'm a little hesitant because I'm very conscious about my weight, and I've heard that hormone treatments can sometimes make you put on kilos. Is weight gain a common side effect?

Estrogen therapy can sometimes cause mild fluid retention or fat redistribution, which feels like weight gain. However, these side effects vary greatly from person to person. It is best to discuss these concerns with your gynecologist, who can adjust the hormone dosage if needed.

Ghabraiye mat, behen. Jab hum koi aisi bhari dawa khate hain, toh thoda sharir phool jata hai. Aap thoda halka khana khaiye aur doctor saheb se baat kar lijiye, wo sab thik kar denge.

You can try drinking warm water with lemon or cumin seeds to help with the water bloating. But if you notice sudden swelling in just one leg, chest pain, or severe headaches, please do not ignore it and see your doctor immediately.

Estrogen se actually thoda bloating aur water weight badhta hai, yaar. Mere sister ko bhi doctor ne prescribe kiya tha aur uska weight thoda upar gaya. But once the body adjusted, she was completely fine.

Hormones can definitely affect your scale weight, but a lot of it is just water retention. If your doctor allows, try to go for a brisk 30-minute walk daily to keep your metabolism active. It really helps manage the hormonal bloat.

I totally get it, seeing the scale go up when you are already dealing with hormonal changes is so frustrating. Please don't be hard on yourself right now. Give your body some time to adjust, and keep talking to your gynecologist about how you feel.

While estrogen can cause some water weight or increase appetite, it won't magically make you gain fat. Keep an eye on your daily calorie intake and try to maintain a consistent strength training routine. Your body composition is still mostly in your control.
