Can sun poisoning cause vomiting?

Last weekend, I spent too much time in the sun without protection and got really badly burnt. The next day, I started feeling nauseous and even vomited a couple of times. Could this 'sun poisoning' actually cause vomiting?

Yes, in my experience, staying out too long in the extreme heat can upset your stomach and lead to vomiting. It is basically a heat stroke. Rest in a cool room and sip salted water slowly.

I got really dizzy and threw up after being in the sun yesterday, and now I'm super worried. Has anyone else felt this sick just from sun exposure? I hope it is not something more serious.

Vomiting after sun exposure is a clear sign of heat exhaustion or sun poisoning. You should visit a doctor at a good clinic right away to prevent dehydration. Ask them clearly if you need IV fluids.

Oh, that sounds awful! Yes, it can definitely make you throw up because of the severe dehydration and heat. Try to sip some ORS or coconut water very slowly, and don't stay in the hot sun again.

Yes, it can. Please make sure to drink electoral or ORS water immediately to avoid severe dehydration.

Man, vomiting is the worst! The extreme heat completely messes up your digestion. Avoid any spicy or heavy food today and stick to simple curd rice or liquid diet until your stomach settles.

I panicked completely when I threw up after a long trek, thinking I was majorly ill. But the doctor reassured me it was just dehydration and heat exhaustion. Once I got some fluids and rested, I was totally fine.

Beta, the intense sun causes 'pitta' to rise, which leads to vomiting and dizziness. You can drink fresh mint water or barley water to cool the stomach. But if the vomiting does not stop, go to a doctor immediately.
