Can stroke symptoms come and go?

My father had a brief spell of weakness in his arm yesterday, but it passed quickly. We were quite worried, but now he seems fine. I am wondering if stroke symptoms can sometimes appear and then go away on their own?

Yes, they absolutely can, and it's super dangerous to ignore them even if they disappear. Sometimes it is a mini-stroke or TIA, which is a major warning. If the doctor gives the green light later, simple daily walks and mild cardio are amazing for circulation, but please get checked first.

Actually yaar, my neighbor went through this exact same thing last year. He felt a bit of numbness in his arm and it went away in an hour, so he ignored it. Next day he had a major stroke, so please don't take it lightly and visit a doc ASAP.

Beta, please don't sit at home trying any nuskhas or garlic remedies for this. I always try home remedies first for small things, but stroke symptoms coming and going is not something to mess with. Take them to a good hospital immediately for a proper scan.

In my experience with older family members, temporary numbness or sudden weakness that fades should never be taken lightly. It might feel like a minor nerve pinch, but it can be a warning sign of a stroke. Keep the mind calm, practice gentle breathing, but make doctor consultation your first priority.

Listen to me carefully, do not wait for the symptoms to return. In our days, people used to think it was just temporary 'vaat' or muscle weakness and would massage it with warm oil, which is very risky. Please go straight to a neurologist and get a proper checkup done.

I was actually reading up on this last week because my uncle had a similar episode. Turns out there is something called a transient ischemic attack where symptoms like numbness or slurred speech vanish in minutes. It's still a massive medical emergency though, so don't wait.
