Can stress cause weight loss?

I've been really stressed with my business recently and have lost a noticeable amount of weight without even trying. Is it possible that stress alone can cause you to lose weight?

Yes, stress can kill your appetite or speed up your metabolism, leading to weight loss. If your doctor says it is fine, try doing light weight-training and short walks. It really helps stimulate your appetite and keeps your muscles active.

I lost almost 6 kgs when I went through a bad breakup because I just couldn't swallow food due to the anxiety lump in my throat. It is a very real and exhausting physical reaction. Please take it easy and try having liquid meals like milkshakes or soups.

I went through a phase of sudden weight loss during a stressful family transition. My doctor advised me not to force large meals but to focus on nutrient-dense foods like peanut butter, dry fruits, and paneer. Eating small portions every three hours helped me regain my healthy weight.

With heavy project deliveries, I often forget to eat and lose weight rapidly. If you are also losing weight due to stress, try setting calendar reminders to eat small snacks or keep almonds at your desk. It is a quick and practical way to maintain calorie intake.

Honestly, between my late-night shifts and constant stress, my body just burns calories like crazy without me doing any actual gym work. I wish I was losing weight the healthy way, but instead, I just look like a tired zombie!
