Can stress cause stroke like symptoms?

Been under a lot of pressure lately with work deadlines and family stuff. Last night, I suddenly felt one side of my body go numb for a few minutes, and my vision blurred a bit. My husband got really scared, but it passed. Can stress actually cause symptoms that feel like a stroke, or should I be really worried?

During a massive panic attack, my face felt numb and my arm went weak. It turned out to be stress-induced hyperventilation, but we didn't guess; we went straight to the ER. Always treat stroke-like symptoms as an emergency and get checked by a doctor right away.

I was researching this and found out that severe panic or anxiety attacks can actually cause numbness, tingling, or dizziness that feel like a stroke. However, since stroke-like symptoms are extremely critical, you must go to a hospital immediately to be sure.

Please do not wait or panic. Sudden weakness, numbness, or trouble speaking are critical symptoms that require immediate medical attention at a hospital. Please get someone to take you to a doctor right now.

Yes, extreme panic can mimic these symptoms, but stroke-like signs are serious red flags. Please go to the hospital immediately.

It is so scary when your body reacts that way. Severe anxiety can cause slurred speech or sudden weakness, but please don't take any chances thinking it is just stress. Go to the nearest emergency room immediately to get a professional diagnosis.
