Can std cause hair loss?

My hair has been falling out quite a lot recently, and I'm also worried because I might have picked up an infection. I heard somewhere that certain infections can affect hair. Is it possible for an STD to cause hair loss?

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai, specially secondary syphilis me hair patch me jhadne lagte hain. Isko moth-eaten hair loss bhi bolte hain na. Thoda dhyan do aur bina sharmaye kisi achhe skin specialist ko dikhao.

Dealing with PCOS has taught me how complicated hair loss can be, but yes, certain infections like syphilis are known to cause patchy hair fall. I don't want to say for sure because it could be hormonal too, so it is best to consult a dermatologist or doctor who can run the right tests.

Yes, syphilis in its secondary stage can cause a specific type of patchy hair loss, and sometimes general high fever from other infections triggers hair shedding. Don't worry, once the main infection is treated with proper antibiotics, your hair usually grows back completely.

Yes, some advanced infections can trigger hair shedding due to systemic stress or direct infection. While you get this checked by a doctor, try to keep your stress levels low with some light jogging or outdoor walks. Keeping active always helps the body heal faster.

I have been seeing a lot of hair falling out in patches recently and I'm really terrified it might be linked to an infection. Has anyone else experienced sudden hair loss after a risky exposure? What tests did your doctor ask you to get done?
