Can statin drugs cause liver damage?

My doctor prescribed statin drugs for my cholesterol. I've been taking them for a while, but I recently read that they might cause liver damage. How common is this, and should I be worried?

My dad has been on statins for like five years now for his cholesterol. His doctor does a simple LFT (liver function test) every six months just to monitor his liver, and his reports are completely normal. Just get the regular blood tests done, bro, nothing to panic about.

Haan na, starting me deep worry hoti hai side effects ki. Actually statins se thoda liver enzymes upar neeche ho sakta hai, but doctors always monitor it with regular blood checks. Tum tension mat lo, bas doctor se thoda discuss kar lo.

Yes, statins can sometimes cause a mild increase in liver enzymes, but severe liver damage is very rare. Please don't worry too much, just keep taking them as your doctor advised and do regular blood tests to stay safe.

I am not completely sure since I only track my PCOS meds, but I think statins can occasionally affect liver levels. It's always safest to not guess and just get a quick liver panel test done if you feel any fatigue or nausea. Your doctor will know best.

I panicked so much when my routine blood report showed slightly elevated liver enzymes after starting statins. But my doctor assured me it was a common, temporary reaction and just adjusted my dose. Now my liver tests are absolutely fine, so don't stress!

While statins have a very low risk of causing actual liver damage, it is a good idea to support your liver by eating a clean, low-fat vegetarian diet. Avoid alcohol and greasy foods completely. Always get your routine Liver Function Tests done as prescribed by your doctor.

I was actually researching about cholesterol medications last week because my father was prescribed statins. From what I read, true liver damage is extremely rare—less than 1% of cases. Usually, it's just a mild, harmless fluctuation in liver enzymes.
