Can skipping meals cause weight gain?

Sometimes I get so busy with work that I end up skipping lunch or dinner. I thought it would help me manage my weight, but I've heard that missing meals can actually cause you to gain weight in the long run. Is there any truth to this?

Yes, it actually can. When you skip meals, you crash your metabolism and lose muscle tissue instead of fat. Plus, you get so hungry that you end up overeating during your next meal, which pushes you into a calorie surplus. Consistency with protein-rich meals is key.

Actually, yes yaar. I tried skipping lunch to lose weight, but by evening I was so hungry I ordered a huge pizza. You end up eating way more calories in one go, which definitely leads to weight gain. Better to eat small, regular meals, honestly.

I tried skipping dinners and drinking lemon honey water instead, but I only ended up gaining weight and getting severe acidity. Skipping meals makes your body store fat because it thinks it is starving. Eating small portions of simple home food works best.

Don't worry, it's a very common mistake. Skipping meals messes with your blood sugar levels, which triggers intense cravings for sugar and carbs later. Just focus on eating balanced meals on time, and your body will find its healthy weight naturally.

I used to skip meals all the time and wondered why the scale wasn't budging. It's because your body goes into survival mode and slows down digestion. My tip: set alarms for your meals and carry handy snacks like almonds so you never skip.

Yes, my calorie tracking app showed me this pattern clearly. Whenever I skipped a meal, my glucose levels fluctuated wildly, leading to severe evening binging. Logging regular, balanced meals actually keeps your metabolic rate steady and prevents fat storage.

Haan na, skipping meals makes you so tired and then you eat double quantity at night. It absolutely causes weight gain instead of loss. We should just eat our normal bhakri and bhaji on time, ho na.
