Can seb derm cause hair loss?

I've been battling with seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp for a few months now, and it's quite flaky and itchy. I've also noticed my hair seems to be thinning more than usual. Could the seb derm be the reason for my hair loss?

Managing hair fall and a flaky scalp at my age is just another daily chore! Yes, seb derm can cause temporary hair shedding because of the irritated scalp and constant scratching. Go see a skin doctor and get a medicated shampoo before you scratch all your hair away.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see your hair fall out when dealing with seborrheic dermatitis. The good news is that the hair loss is usually temporary and happens because of the inflammation and scratching. Please take a deep breath and consult a dermatologist, they can easily treat this.

I had severe seb derm last year and my hair was falling out like crazy. My dermatologist explained that the inflammation weakens the hair roots, but once the scalp cleared up, my hair started growing back. Definitely get a proper antifungal shampoo from a doctor.

Having PCOS makes me very cautious about hair health, and I know how stressful scalp issues can be. Seborrheic dermatitis can indeed lead to temporary hair thinning due to localized scalp inflammation. It is best to consult a dermatologist for a gentle, effective treatment plan.

With my thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with hair fall triggers. Seborrheic dermatitis causes scalp irritation which can lead to temporary hair loss, especially if we scratch a lot. I always recommend regular doctor follow-ups to manage both systemic and scalp health.
