Can sea water help eczema?

I've had eczema since I was a kid, and it flares up sometimes. My uncle told me that swimming in the sea might help clear it up, but I'm not sure if that's true or just an old wives' tale.

Sea water can sometimes help soothe eczema due to its mineral content, but it can also dry out the skin terribly. It really depends on the individual's skin condition. I would advise washing it off with fresh water and applying a good moisturizer immediately after.

I know how incredibly stressful and painful dealing with eczema can be, especially when you are searching for any kind of relief. Some people find sea water calming, but for others, the salt can cause a horrific burning sensation. Please be very gentle with your skin and consult your dermatologist first.

Look, I know you want a quick natural cure, but sea water is a double-edged sword for eczema. It might feel nice for a second but can leave your skin incredibly raw and dry. Don't experiment on irritated skin; let's get you a safe moisturizer recommended by a doctor.

While ocean water contains magnesium which can theoretically help, polluted beach water can introduce harmful bacteria into open eczema sores. Please do not experiment without asking your doctor. It is always safer to get a dermatologist-approved treatment plan.

Instead of relying on sea water, which can be highly irritating, I found that focusing on an anti-inflammatory diet helped my skin issues. Reducing processed foods and staying hydrated works wonders from the inside. Of course, do consult a doctor for external skin treatments.

For some it helps, but for many it burns like crazy and dries the skin. It is better to stick to your prescribed eczema creams.

Going to a beach for therapy isn't practical or cheap for everyone, and honestly, the risk of infection from dirty water isn't worth it. Standard medical moisturizers and cheap oatmeal baths at home are much safer. Save your money for a proper dermatologist visit instead.
