Can remineralizing toothpaste heal cavities?

My dentist mentioned I have a small cavity, but I'm trying to avoid fillings if possible. I've seen some remineralizing toothpastes being advertised; can they actually heal cavities, or is that just marketing?

I tried oil pulling and all sorts of herbal toothpastes hoping to cure my tooth decay at home. Honestly, they only help with mild sensitivity and early enamel wear. Once there is a proper physical cavity, nothing but a dentist's filling can fix it.

I totally get it, dental issues are so annoying and nobody likes going to the dentist. While remineralizing toothpastes are amazing for preventing decay and strengthening enamel, they can't fill an existing hole. It's best to get a quick checkup done.

Those fancy imported remineralizing toothpastes cost a lot of money. It is actually more economical to get a timely dental checkup. Getting a small cavity filled early is way cheaper than ignoring it and paying for a root canal and crown later.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Just try using a good fluoride toothpaste for now to help with the sensitivity. But honestly, make a quick trip to the dentist to get those teeth checked out so you don't have to worry.

My son had early signs of decay and our pediatric dentist recommended a special fluoride toothpaste, which helped stop it from getting worse. But for actual cavities, they had to do proper fillings. Do take your child to a dentist to see what is needed.

These toothpastes with fluoride or hydroxyapatite are great for strengthening weak enamel and reversing microscopic decay. However, they cannot rebuild tooth structure once a proper hole is formed. Please consult a dentist to get it examined properly.

Brush twice a day and do warm salt water rinses to keep your gums healthy and clean. But if you have a deep cavity that is causing pain or sensitivity, home remedies won't work. You must see a dentist for proper treatment.
