Can rapid weight loss cause hair loss?

I've lost a lot of weight quickly due to a strict diet, and now I'm noticing a lot more hair falling out than usual. Is it possible that such rapid weight loss can actually cause hair loss? I'm getting quite worried about it.

I am experiencing this right now after losing 8 kgs very quickly. Is this hair shedding temporary, or do I need to take some specific supplements? I am a bit worried and would love some gentle guidance.

Haan na, it definitely causes hair fall. When we lose weight too fast, the body gets a shock and the hair roots go into a resting phase. Focus on eating proper protein and don't skip meals, otherwise the hair will keep falling.

Yes, rapid weight loss shocks the system and causes telogen effluvium. Practicing gentle pranayama and head-lowering asanas like Adho Mukha Svanasana can help improve blood circulation to the scalp. However, a steady, gradual weight loss approach is always best for the body's harmony.

This happened to me last year when I went on an extreme low-carb diet and lost 12 kgs in two months. My hair started falling out in clumps, which was terrifying. It took about six months of balanced eating and proper multivitamins to finally get my hair density back.

Yes, crash dieting causes severe nutritional deficiencies which lead directly to hair loss. Please get a complete blood count and thyroid panel checked at a lab. It is safest to consult a dermatologist and a qualified dietician before making major dietary changes.

Yes, crash diets cause massive hair fall. Instead of expensive hair treatments, just add simple things like handful of roasted peanuts, paneer, and a bowl of dal to your daily meals. Slowly but surely, the hair will stop falling once your body gets enough nutrition.

I totally get it, seeing your hair fall out after working so hard to lose weight is incredibly frustrating. It is very common because of nutritional shock. Please be gentle with yourself, eat a protein-rich diet, and give your body some time to heal.

Rapid weight loss is often a sign of uncontrolled blood sugar, which also leads to hair thinning. If you are losing weight very fast without trying, please check your HbA1c levels. Ensure you are getting adequate nutrition under a doctor's supervision.

Haan babu, jab sharir kamzor hota hai toh baal toh girenge hi. Jaldi vajan ghatane se takat kam ho jaati hai. Thoda doodh, dahi aur ghee khaya karo aur jaldbazi mat karo vajan kam karne mein.

Look, if you starve yourself to lose weight, of course your hair will fall out. The body cares about saving your vital organs first, not your hair. Stop these extreme crash diets, eat normal home food, and let your body recover.
