Can psoriatic arthritis cause hair loss?

I've been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, and now I'm noticing a lot more hair falling out than usual. I'm wondering if there's any connection between my condition and my hair thinning. Can psoriatic arthritis cause hair loss?

I completely understand how stressful it is to see your hair falling out while you are already dealing with painful joints. It is genuinely frightening to feel like your body is going out of control. Just remember that chronic inflammation and the stress of the disease can trigger temporary hair shedding, and getting your condition managed will help.

I am actually quite new to this and just got diagnosed with mild joint issues. I have been noticing more hair on my comb lately and was wondering if it's because of the arthritis itself or maybe the new medications? If anyone has faced this, please let me know.

Between work and managing this illness, time is short, so let's be practical. Psoriatic arthritis itself doesn't directly kill hair follicles, but the stress of flare-ups or certain medications like methotrexate definitely can cause shedding. Schedule a quick call with your doctor to review your prescription instead of trying endless hair remedies.

Son, I have lived with this condition for over twenty years now. During major joint flares, my hair used to thin out, but once the inflammation settled and the body recovered, the hair always came back. Don't lose sleep over it; focus on your health and things will stabilize.

Arey, don't worry, your hair is just protesting against all the internal joint drama! Once you and your doctor negotiate peace with the arthritis, your hair will return to duty. Just keep your stress low and stop counting every strand that falls!

Hey there! In my experience, hair loss during arthritis treatment is very often a side effect of some specific medications rather than the disease itself. Check your prescription leaflets and discuss with your doctor, as they can easily prescribe a folic acid supplement or adjust the dose to help stop the hair fall.

I totally get it, losing hair on top of dealing with joint pain is just so unfair and emotional. The physical stress on the body during a flare-up can trigger a temporary shedding phase. Please be kind to yourself and give your body some time to heal under proper medical guidance.
