Can probiotics cause hair loss?

I started taking a new probiotic supplement a couple of months ago, and around the same time, I noticed increased hair shedding. I'm not sure if it's related. Can probiotics cause hair loss as a side effect?

Arre nahi beta, probiotics toh pet ke liye acche hote hain, unse baal jhadne ka koi rishta nahi hota. Baal jhad rahe hain toh thoda dhyan do, shayad pani badla ho ya chinta zyada le rahe ho. Apne doctor se milo, wo koi accha tel ya tonic bata denge.

I've been taking probiotics for my digestive issues for six months now and didn't face any hair fall because of it. Usually, hair loss happens due to stress, bad diet, or genetics, not gut supplements. Get your vitamins checked instead of worrying about the probiotics.

Heh, at my age, I lose hair just looking in the mirror, but I don't think my probiotics are to blame! Probiotics actually help improve nutrient absorption which should help your hair, not hurt it. If you're going bald, look at your stress levels or blame your parents' genes like I do.

While there is no direct scientific link between probiotics and hair loss, everyone's body reacts uniquely to supplements. If you noticed a sudden increase in hair fall right after starting a new brand, it is always safest to stop it and consult a doctor to rule out any thyroid or vitamin deficiencies.

I focus heavily on gut health because it impacts diabetes management, and probiotics have only helped me. Hair loss is usually tied to nutritional gaps, high stress, or hormonal imbalances rather than gut bacteria. Try adding more zinc and protein-rich foods to your diet, and discuss this with your physician.
