Can pregnancy change eyesight?

I feel like my vision has become a little blurry since I got pregnant, especially when I'm tired. My mother said it's normal. Can pregnancy actually change your eyesight temporarily?

Haan beta, during my pregnancy my vision also became a little blurry. The elders said it is because of weakness, but it got normal again after my daughter was born. Do not take tension, but tell your doctor about it.

Fluid retention during pregnancy can actually change the shape of your cornea, causing temporary vision changes. While you should check with an eye doctor, continuing with light walks can help improve your overall circulation and reduce general fluid buildup.

I am in my fourth month and noticed I can't read the TV screen clearly anymore. Is this really a normal thing that happens? Did your eyesight go back to normal completely after the baby came?

When my daughter was pregnant, her eyesight became quite blurry, which really scared her. Her gynecologist checked her blood pressure and told her it was just harmless fluid retention. It got perfectly fine after delivery, so keep your doctor informed.

Yes indeed, my power increased slightly during my second pregnancy, but it returned to my normal level within a few months after delivery. It is a very common experience. Just rest your eyes and don't worry too much.

You can wash your eyes with clean, cool water to soothe any dryness or strain. However, if you are seeing spots, flashes, or have sudden blurry vision, please visit your doctor immediately as it can be a sign of preeclampsia.

Please do not ignore any changes in your vision. I once brushed off minor blurriness which turned out to be a sign of high blood pressure during my wife's pregnancy. Get your BP and eyes checked immediately by a doctor to be safe.

Our bodies experience many shifts to support a new soul. Try to rest your eyes, avoid looking at screens in the dark, and stay positive. Always keep your doctor informed about any changes you experience.

I was looking this up recently out of curiosity. It's crazy that hormonal changes can actually change the thickness of your cornea and cause dry eyes. It makes sense why some people find their contact lenses uncomfortable during these months.

Look, minor vision changes can happen due to fluid retention, but blurry vision can also be a sign of gestational diabetes or high blood pressure. Don't sit around guessing. Go get your checkup done today.

Between the late-night feeds and hormonal shifts, my wife swore her eyes were playing tricks on her! Blurred vision is actually a real thing during pregnancy. Just get it checked so you know if you need temporary glasses or just some sleep.

I absolutely panicked when my glasses suddenly felt weak during my second trimester. My doctor reassured me that hormones cause fluid buildup in the eyes, which changes your vision temporarily. It went back to normal soon after my baby was born!
