Can pregnancy cause urinary tract infections?

I've been feeling a bit of burning when I pee, and have to go to the washroom very often. Someone told me pregnant women are more prone to UTIs. Does pregnancy make us more susceptible to getting urinary tract infections?

I just recovered from a terrible UTI last month during my second trimester. The doctor explained that the growing baby puts pressure on the bladder, making it hard to empty completely, which causes infections. Don't wait, get a urine culture done immediately.

Yes, the urinary tract gets relaxed during pregnancy, making it easier for bacteria to grow. Along with drinking plenty of warm water, keep your pelvic region clean and dry. Please consult your doctor for safe pregnancy-friendly antibiotics.

Your bladder is basically getting squished like a stress ball by the baby, so bacteria find it the perfect place to hang out! UTIs are very common now. Just drink oceans of water and get a quick prescription from your doctor.

Pregnancy changes your urinary system, and if you have higher blood sugar levels, it becomes even easier for bacteria to thrive. Watch your sugar intake closely and drink lots of water. Definitely see your doctor for a proper urine test.
