Can pregnancy cause rashes?

I've started noticing some itchy red rashes appearing on my body, especially around my abdomen, since I entered my third trimester. It's quite uncomfortable. Can pregnancy cause these kinds of skin rashes?

For mild itching, applying a little virgin coconut oil or aloe vera gel can give nice relief. But please remember, if the rashes are spreading fast or very red, don't ignore it. You must show it to your doctor immediately.

Oh, I got these crazy red itchy bumps on my belly during my third trimester and absolutely panicked thinking it was some dangerous allergy. Turned out it was just PUPPP, which is super common and harmless. It went away right after delivery, so try not to worry too much.

I have seen many expecting mothers complain about this over the years. Heat rashes and dry skin rashes are quite common as your body temperature rises. Wear loose cotton clothes and keep yourself cool, but always mention it at your next checkup.

Yes, skin sensitivity is very high during pregnancy and stretch marks can also cause a lot of itching and redness. Keep the skin well-hydrated with a mild lotion. If the itching is severe, especially on your palms and soles, you must report it to your doctor to check your liver enzymes.

I totally get it, dealing with an itchy rash when you are already dealing with morning sickness is the absolute worst. It makes you feel so uncomfortable in your own skin. Hang in there, keep the area cool, and definitely talk to your gynecologist about it.

My wife got severe hives during her second trimester. Don't waste time trying multiple home remedies if it's disturbing your sleep or work. Just book a quick consultation with your doctor to get a safe pregnancy-friendly calamine lotion or prescription.
