Can pregnancy cause lightheadedness?

Sometimes when I stand up quickly, I feel really dizzy and lightheaded, almost like I might faint. I'm in my second trimester, and my mother told me this is common. Is it true that pregnancy can cause lightheadedness?

Yes, feeling lightheaded is quite common because your cardiovascular system is expanding rapidly. Please don't stand up too fast from your bed or chair, and always keep a bottle of water near you. If it happens frequently, let your doctor know.

Lightheadedness can happen due to low blood pressure or low sugar levels during pregnancy. However, it can also lead to fainting which is dangerous. It is always safest to get this evaluated by your gynecologist as soon as possible.

Please get your blood pressure and iron levels checked immediately. I once ignored feeling dizzy during a stressful phase, fainted, and ended up with a bad injury. Don't take lightheadedness lightly when you are pregnant, see your doctor.

I panicked so much in my second month when I suddenly felt dizzy while standing in the kitchen. But my OB-GYN reassured me that it was just my blood vessels dilating due to progesterone. Drinking more fluids and sitting down slowly really helped.

My bhabhi used to feel super lightheaded, especially in crowded or warm rooms. She said her doctor told her it is normal due to blood circulation changes. She just carried a bottle of lemon water everywhere.

My wife had a couple of dizzy spells during her first trimester. We went straight to her hospital and the doctor ran some basic blood tests to check her hemoglobin and blood sugar. Please ask your doctor clearly for your own safety.

In our days, we were told to never stand up with a jerk during pregnancy because the head can spin. It is very common, child. Eat small meals, drink coconut water, and always mention these spells to your doctor.

Yes, dizziness is common as the body works hard to supply blood to the baby. My daughter used to carry small packets of glucose and biscuits in her bag whenever she went out. Make sure you are eating on time and do consult your doctor.
