Can pimples on scalp cause hair loss?

I've started noticing small pimples or bumps on my scalp, and at the same time, my hair feels like it's thinning a bit. I'm worried if these scalp pimples could actually be causing hair loss. Has anyone experienced this?

As if regular balding wasn't enough, these scalp pimples had to join the party too! Yes, they damage the hair follicles if you scratch them constantly. Better to keep your scalp clean before you lose more hair like I did.

Yes, severe scalp acne or folliculitis can damage the roots and cause hair fall. I went to a dermatologist at Kokilaben Hospital for this, and they prescribed a specific medicated shampoo. Ask your doctor clearly about what is causing the bumps instead of guessing.

Between work and commute, we barely get time to oil or wash our hair properly, which causes sweat buildup and scalp pimples. If you notice hair thinning around those bumps, don't waste time on random internet hacks. Just book a quick online dermatologist consult this weekend.

I can only tell you what happened to me last summer. I got a bunch of painful red bumps on my head and noticed a lot of hair coming out when I combed that area. I stopped scratching them, kept my scalp dry, and the hair fall stopped once the bumps healed.

High blood sugar can make your body more prone to skin and scalp infections, which causes these pimples and subsequent hair loss. I have to keep my HbA1c in check to prevent these breakouts. Make sure you aren't eating too much sweet or oily food, and check your sugars if this is a recurring issue.

Don't stress, the hair usually grows back once the scalp inflammation goes down. Just promise me you won't pick or pop those pimples, as that leads to permanent scarring and hair loss. Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo for now and let your scalp heal.

Our bodies reflect our inner stress, and scalp issues often flare up when the mind is anxious. Try to stay positive and keep your thoughts calm. Eat simple, wholesome meals, wash your hair with clean water, and let nature heal you along with proper doctor guidance.

I tried putting neem paste, curd, and even onion juice on my scalp to cure this, but it just made my hair drier and drop more. Honestly, if the pimples are painful and causing hair fall, home remedies can sometimes irritate them further. It is safer to get a mild medicated lotion from a skin doctor.
