Can paragard iud cause weight gain?

I'm considering getting the Paragard IUD for contraception, but I'm really concerned about potential side effects, especially weight gain. I've heard some people say it happens. Can the Paragard IUD cause weight gain?

Honestly, Paragard is completely copper-based and has zero hormones, so it medically cannot cause weight gain. If you are gaining weight, it is likely due to other lifestyle changes or stress. Don't blame the IUD, look at your daily routine instead.

Our bodies sometimes react to foreign objects with mild temporary bloating or stress, which we mistake for weight gain. Stay positive, keep practicing light yoga, and let your body adapt naturally. Everything will settle beautifully with time.

I have had the copper IUD for three years now. Since it is non-hormonal, it didn't cause any weight gain for me, unlike hormonal pills. However, the first few months did cause some heavy bloating during periods, which made me feel heavier. Just give it some time to settle.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! My sister had the exact same doubt, but her doctor assured her that copper IUDs don't have hormones to make you gain weight. It is super safe, so just chill and let your body get used to it!

In our experience, any change in the body can cause some water retention or mild swelling initially. Try drinking warm fennel or cumin water in the morning to reduce bloating. Keep your diet simple and don't worry too much, child.

Clinical studies show no direct link between the copper IUD and weight gain because it lacks hormones. However, individual body responses can vary, and age or metabolic changes often coincide with insertion. It is best to consult your gynecologist to evaluate your symptoms properly.

I have seen this discussed by many women in our wellness circles. Because Paragard is non-hormonal, it does not affect your metabolism or fat storage. If you feel heavier, check if you are experiencing bloating due to heavier periods, which is a known side effect.
