Can ovulation cause weight gain?

I feel quite bloated and a little heavier around the time I ovulate each month. I'm curious if this is a real thing. Can ovulation actually cause temporary weight gain?

Beta, the water retention during ovulation can make you feel very heavy and bloated. Drinking warm ginger and fennel water helps to reduce this water weight naturally. Try to avoid high salt food during these few days.

Oh absolutely, mid-cycle bloating is so real! Plus, the hormonal spike makes me crave salty chips and chocolates like crazy, which definitely doesn't help the scale. It's usually just temporary water weight anyway.

My mother always tells me that bloating and slight heaviness in the body is natural during the middle of the cycle. However, if the weight gain is sudden and doesn't go away, please consult a gynecologist to check your hormones.

Hormones like estrogen peak during ovulation, causing the body to hold onto water. Stick to low-sodium vegetarian meals and drink plenty of water to flush out the excess fluids. Don't worry, the scale will go down in a few days.

I used to freak out seeing the scale go up by 1.5 kgs every single month mid-cycle. Once I tracked it, I realized it's just cyclical water retention that drops after ovulation ends. Just track your weight patterns for a month or two.

The body goes through beautiful natural phases, and temporary heaviness is just a part of the cycle. Don't be too hard on yourself or stress over numbers on a scale. Keep a peaceful mind and stay hydrated.

Haan na, the body feels so heavy and bloated suddenly in the middle of the month. It is just water weight due to hormones, nothing to worry. Just eat light and drink coconut water.

In our days, we didn't have weighing scales to check every day, but we definitely felt the mid-cycle heaviness. It is just your body's natural way of working and it is completely normal. Take rest and don't worry.

Actually, I easily gain around 1-2 kgs during ovulation yaar. It's so annoying because my jeans feel super tight suddenly. But it literally disappears in three days, so don't sweat it.

While mild water retention is normal, continuous weight gain that doesn't fluctuate with your cycle could point to thyroid or PCOS issues. It is always safer to get your hormone levels checked by a doctor.

It is mostly water retention due to high estrogen levels. If you feel up to it, doing a 30-minute brisk walk can help sweat out the excess water and improve blood circulation. Keep hydrating well.

Seeing the scale go up when you are trying so hard is incredibly frustrating and can ruin your mood. I completely understand how disheartening it feels. Just remember it is completely physiological and not actual fat gain.

People online often mistake overall weight gain for ovulation bloating. If you are consistently gaining weight across months, you need to verify the root cause with a medical professional rather than assuming it is just ovulation.

Babe, don't stress too much about it! It's just water retention because of ovulation. Put the weighing scale away for a week and wear comfortable clothes. It will pass before you know it.
