Can overactive thyroid cause hair loss?

I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid a few months ago and have been on medication. Since then, my hair has started thinning quite a bit. Could my hyperthyroidism be causing this hair loss?

Yes beta, thyroid issues can make hair very weak and thin. While your doctor's medicine is must, you can apply mild coconut oil mixed with curry leaves to soothe the scalp. Don't use harsh chemicals on your hair right now.

Hormones are tricky, and thyroid imbalances definitely trigger hair fall. Just like managing my diabetes, keeping a close watch on your diet and medical reports is key. Ensure you're getting enough nutrients and taking your doctor-prescribed pills.

I had severe hair fall when my thyroid went hyper. The most important thing is getting your T3, T4, and TSH levels balanced with the right medicine dose. Once your levels stabilize, the hair fall will stop automatically, so hang in there.

Please don't try to treat this with just hair oils or shampoos. My thyroid levels got dangerously high because I ignored the hair loss and fatigue symptoms for too long. Go to an endocrinologist and get a proper blood test done.

Do not let this worry you too much, as stress only increases hair loss. Keep your mind peaceful and take your prescribed treatments with a positive attitude. Your body has a beautiful way of healing when you stay calm.

Hyperthyroidism can make the body's systems run too fast, exhausting your hair follicles. Practicing Sarvangasana and Ujjayi pranayama gently helped regulate my thyroid gland over time. Of course, do it alongside your regular medical treatment.
