Can over exercising cause weight gain?

Despite hitting the gym really hard and exercising a lot, I've noticed my weight isn't going down, and sometimes it even feels like I'm gaining. Can over-exercising actually cause weight gain instead of weight loss?

Actually, overtraining spikes your cortisol levels, which is the stress hormone, and that can cause your body to hold onto fat. Also, people often eat more thinking they burned a lot of calories. Track your food and give your body proper rest.

Sometimes when we work out too much, our appetite increases drastically and we end up eating larger portions without realizing. Focus on a balanced diet with good plant protein like paneer and dal instead of over-exercising. Rest is equally important for weight loss.

When we push the physical body too hard, it goes into a state of stress and inflammation, leading to fluid retention. Gentle practices like slow yoga and deep breathing help lower these stress hormones. Balance your effort with relaxation.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai! When you overdo gymming, body pain and swelling can make the scale go up. Aur upar se extreme workout ke baad bhook bhi bohot lagti hai na, toh hum zyada kha lete hain. Thoda hand hold karo aur rest lo.

If you look at your fitness tracker, you might notice your resting heart rate is up and your sleep quality has dropped because of overtraining. This stress causes water retention and muscle inflammation. Take a couple of active recovery days.
