Can ovarian cancer cause weight gain?

I've noticed some unexplained weight gain recently, particularly around my belly, even though my eating habits haven't changed. I'm worried about potential underlying causes. Can ovarian cancer cause weight gain?

I noticed rapid weight gain and a bloated stomach last year and immediately panicked thinking it was cancer. It turned out to be just severe fluid retention and hormonal changes. Don't worry too much, but definitely get a checkup to be safe.

Ovarian cancer can cause fluid buildup in the abdomen, called ascites, which looks like rapid weight gain or a growing waistline. If you are tracking your weight and notice sudden changes, check with a doctor. Also monitor your diet and overall wellness closely.

The accumulation of fluid in the belly area can make you feel heavy and gain weight. Regular gentle movements and breathing exercises can help with blood circulation, but for the actual diagnosis and treatment of the fluid, you must consult an oncologist.

Yes, many patients report a sudden increase in abdominal girth or weight due to ascites. If your calorie tracker shows you are in a deficit but your weight or belly size is still shooting up, it is a clear sign to get an ultrasound.

I ignored my sudden weight gain and bloating for almost six months, thinking it was just middle-age metabolism slowing down, and I deeply regret it. Please do not ignore these changes. If your clothes are suddenly too tight around the belly, see a doctor.

I am new here and a bit scared. Does this mean the weight gain happens very quickly, like in a few weeks? I have been gaining weight around my stomach and I am worried if I should go to a general doctor or directly to a gynecologist.

If a doctor clears you for light exercise, daily walks are great for overall fitness. But remember, the weight gain from ovarian cancer is often fluid build-up, not fat, so normal workouts won't burn it off. You need clinical treatment for the underlying issue.

With my non-existent sleep cycle, my metabolism is already a joke and I gain weight just looking at pizza. But if your belly is expanding rapidly and you feel full too fast, it could be fluid accumulation. Don't ignore it, get a quick scan done.

Do not buy into those detox teas or fat burners on Instagram to lose this type of belly fat. If the weight gain is due to ovarian cancer fluid, no diet will fix it. Go to a proper hospital and get a clinical diagnosis.

I love eating and usually blame my weight gain on late-night biryani. But if you feel constantly bloated and heavy even when you aren't eating much, that's not normal food weight. Please get a proper pelvic checkup to rule out any ovarian issues.
